We were so surprised to see the video of the Halston Fall-Winter 2008/2009 [here] . Where is the American brand’s DNA? If Marco Zanini was so much looking for “modernity”, if he was so much trying to express minimalism, after beingDonatella Versace’s assitant for a quite some time, he should have started his very own line, but not take the creative helm at Halston. Even Liza Minelli, sitting front row and called to play her part of “I knew Halston very well and I admire the new designer…” couldn’t help but say: ” Maybe Halston would have put a little more jewellery…” Surely, a collection which, despite all the Hollywood fuss around it, was a deception in the eyes of many fashionistas who do not tolerate being fooled…. It’s called the “Haute Couture Protection Guild“, it was founded six months ago around the idea of a Parisian Paradox by five friends to help Haute Couture survive! The paradox must lie in the gap between gowns that sell for several hundreds of thousands of US dollars to the super rich and a series of craftsmen and ateliers who are dying. Fashion writer Jean Paul Cauvin tells you all about it in his latest blogpost. Watch it, you might want to join the Guild! No chance? Just make sure, clicking on this link, [here] !
